  • Video game addiction is the compulsive or uncontrolled use of video games, in a way that causes problems in other areas of the person’s life.

American Psychiatric Association. While the American Psychiatric Association (APA) does not recognize video game addiction as a disorder, in light of existing evidence, the organization included video game addiction as a “condition requiring further study” in the DSM-5 as an Internet gaming disorder.

However, Gaming addiction is a reality, as a behavior disorder can be treated to better the quality of life of the person.
